Monday had it out for me.

OK, so here's a funny story. Well funny to probably everyone with the exception of myself...
...Patrick's parents are out of town and we agreed to stop by to bring the mail in, check the house, stuff like that. Monday was a long day, one of those "I hate today" days. I was tired from dealing with family drama in Ottawa, Patrick and I could do nothing but argue even though we hadn't seen each other in a weak, Victoria has bronchitis so she was cranky and to top it off I had this headache that was branching out to migraine status. All in all not a great day, right?...right. So, we arrive at the house and Patrick rushes up the pathway with Victoria because it's freezing rain outside and I grab my purse and lock the car. As soon as I'm two steps onto the pathway I slip, lose my footing, fly up in the air and crash to the ground! You should have seen me. I had ice burn on my right palm, a seriously bruised right hip and my right knee was all cut up. Of course I jump up right away not even caring about how hurt I am...I just wanted to look around to make sure nobody saw my extremely ungraceful plummet to the ground lol. Then proceeded to inch my way up the ice covered path to the safety of the indoors so I could concentrate on the pain lol. What a day!!! I think I'll leave the mail checking to Pat from now on:)

Winter weekend

This weekend turned out to be quite nice considering that I'd spent the majority of last week feeling rather stressed and chaotic. My father came up to the Bay for a visit and we had a very relaxing, family oriented few days. Saturday Patrick, my father and I took Victoria and a friend tobogganing, to the library for some quiet afternoon reading and home again for hot chocolates. Sunday we drove out onto Lake Nippissing to watch some of the snowmobile races...lol not only was this extremely boring, but I think my ears fell off it was so cold. After the lake we went for a quick hike up Duschaney Falls, which was a little difficult due to the amount of snow, but we were troopers and made it to the first waterfall and then quickly turned around lol. It was nice to be able to enjoy the mild temperatures and the outdoors with family this weekend. Hopefully this week will follow in the same footsteps.
